With a head full of dreads and sweet melodies,  Addis  promotes peace in his music. This self proclaimed singer, songwriter and entertainer,  he has carved out his place as a top dog in representing the music of the US  Virgin Islands, in the Carribean and America.  A man not much committed  to traditions, Addis  has create his own unique sounds by blending the islands calypso,soca and raggae beats with American rock, hip hop and R&B. This artist had been signed under several Digital Distribution Companies as well as one of Nashville very own VisionMusicGroupNashville, Nashville TN.  Addis  one day hopes to put his home land on the map not only for its idyllic sun and beaches, but for its music like many others has done

 

I am not a rebel and I am not just a singer. and I want my audiencs to know that I do promote peace through out mankind, ” explains the singer with a gentle smile and lilting island accent. Currently based out of Connecticut,  Addis  has been working on his soon to be released 3rd album not yet titled and preparing for a summer of live performances and promotions.

 

Evoking sound from his Caribbean home, Addis  has successfully added another dimension to the world music genre. With over 20 years of performing under his belt, the  positivlly ear trained musician has already released two major pieces of work. His debut release, Chant A Joyful Song and sophomore album Eternal Love have both been well received on radio airwaves in the Northeast and the Caribbean. Songs like “Give A Little Love”,  ”Ease The Tentions” and  ”Simple Truth”  all speaks volumes to his mission as a musician and entertainer. Addis  has been performing for audiences of thousands at events such as the Wilberham Peach Festival, The Hartford River Fest 2000, and the The FoxWoods Tribal Convention just to name a few.

 

Addis  musical career began on the charming island of St John, a place locally known as “Love City” ,  as a steel drum player in a high school band. After finding success in the Virgin Islands in local calypso outfits, he left the lifestyle and moved to the mainland in order to take his career to the next level, and so he did.  Joining a band  ” New Horizons” started one of the biggest movement in his musical career, where ofted he would endure insane touring schedules with performances 5 to 7 days a week. The band had the honor to open for acts such as One band St. John in the Caribbeaninternational, Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear, Toots, Ziggy and Stephen Marley, Black Uhuru, Junior Reed, and Johnny Washington, The Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band Changes and Lattitude just to name a few.

 

One of the first from the US, Virgin Islands to make a splash in the USA, he aspires to teach global audiences about a beautifully simple way of life. Writen most of his music while reminincingon personal life experiences, Addis  thought provoking lyrics will prompt listeners to appreciate all of life’s blessings.

 

Boasting two smashing solo albums featuring songs with topics ranging eternal love and spiritual empowerment,  Addis   hopes to reach everyone with a passion for enjoying great music. as Addis  expresses  ” Music is the food of love,” Music is and will always be the absolute essence of mind  body and soul, ” proclaims this unassuming yet regal artist. With a powerful mission guided by Jah Himself  and the talent to match,  Addis  proves to be a shooting star on his way to the stage.
